In the lower Appalachians there’s a road that runs from mountaintop to mountaintop. The Blue Ridge Parkway is aptly named, as the Blue Ridge Mountains live up to their name. Sure, they’d barely be hills on the west coast, but respect for the elders- one day the rockies will be as worn down, too. The trees in the Blue Ridge produce high concentrations of isopropene gas, which makes the air crisp, clean, and sapphire blue. It also makes for spectacular dusks and dawns.
